Hermione Jean Granger was born to one of the most Muggle-ish backgrounds possible - the only daughter of two dentists. She was a bookworm with buckteeth and wild hair when she received her admittance letter to Hogwart's. Her parents had been so proud and did everything they could to get their daughter what she needed to succeed in her new school.
Hermione reads almost constantly and prefers branches of magic that are more concrete like history and runes. In her first few months at Hogwart's, she buried herself in in her books and learning. Her lust for knowledge led her in one year to use a Time Turner to live through her school days twice to be able to double her course load. Her love of reading and research, along with a brilliant and diligent mind has always allowed her to be able to perform magic that beyond what those her age could typically do. Something she enjoyed, since it was an affront to pure blood superiority.
During her fourth year, she had started to develop feelings for Ron, but he was fairly oblivious to it and ended up driving her toward Viktor Krum. Though initially flattered, she came to be annoyed with him and his mannerisms, not to mention the rumors it caused to fly around because of Rita Skeeter. Despite this, she has remained friends with Viktor since he returned home, and they often exchange letters.
When she first began attending at Hogwart's, Hermione had a deep and abiding trust and determination in following the laws and rules set before them. But as years progressed, she learned that in some cases, rules had to be broken for the greater good... and sometimes laws were meant to be changed. Her earliest efforts to this end was creating a group known as SPEW - Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, pressing her friends to join her. Though largely unsuccessful, it formed a basis for a way of thinging that would follow her through all her time at Hogwart's and beyond.
Before the beginning of what should have been their seventh year of school, Hermione, Ron, and Harry decided instead that they had to continue the work that Dumbledore had started to ensure that Voldemort could be defeated by hunting down and destroying his Horcruxes. She planned diligently for this, beginning partly with wiping her from the memories of her parents and sent them to live in Austrailia. She packed everything they would need, from books to clothes to a tent to medicine and more within her bag. She was also key in helping to track down and find the Horcruxes because of her research and thinking.
She also participated in the Battle of Hogwart's, and that was where she shared her first kiss with Ron. Once it was over, she got her parents back and returned to school to be able to finish her schooling while Harry and Ron left in order to be Aurors. From there, she went to the Ministry to work in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures where she worked hard to improve the lives and welfare of house elves and other similarly troubled beings.
While there, Ron proposed and he and Hermione married, and she not long after gave birth to a little girl that they named Rose. Though dedicated to her work, Hermione made sure to scale it back a little in order to spend time with her daughter, and it was because of this that she noticed how often Ron was gone. She let it go, for a time, knowing that what he and Harry were doing was important, instead spending time at the Burrow and letting Rose get to know her cousins Victoire, Molly, Fred, and James.
Since, she's moved into the Ministry's Department of Magical Law Enforcement where she's devoted her time to the destruction of pro-pureblood laws, and all her free time is spent with Rose or over at the Weasely's. Over the months, she's grown steadily more irritated and depressed over the situation with Ron. Despite them sharing a field of work, Hermione has seen more of Harry recently than she's seen of her own husband. She tries to wrangle her thoughts into submissiveness, reminding herself that she's known since they were young that Ron's the one of them that's truly had a lust for adventure, a determination to prove himself successful.
For Harry and Hermione, the things they did were more a matter of grim necessity - their true passions lie with their families, especially for Harry. And while Hermione could admit that she found a passion in her work as well, she still managed to spend some time every day with her daughter, alternately leaving her during the day with her own parents or with Molly. Her own parents have noticed for some time how discontent she is, and even Molly and Arthur have started to see it. But like Hermione, they don't know what there is to do about it short of waiting for Ron to see it too.
